Statement of Faith
scripture
We believe that the Bible, which is composed of the 66 Books of the Old and New Testaments, being the uniquely inspired Word of God is without any error in its original manuscripts and is the final authority in matters of faith and practice.
(2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pet 1:21)
(2 Tim 3:16, 2 Pet 1:21)
God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in 3 persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Deut 6:4; John 8:58; 1 Pet 1:2)
(Deut 6:4; John 8:58; 1 Pet 1:2)
Jesus christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, the second member of the triune God, took the form of a man by the power of the Holy Spirit through the virgin Mary as the Bible describes; and as such He is true God and true Man. We believe in the substitutionary death of the Lord Jesus Christ for our sins, in the resurrection of His body, His ascension into heaven, His return for His people at the rapture and His subsequent personal and visible return to the earth to establish God’s kingdom.
(Matt 1:20, Luke 24:6; Acts 1:9; 4:12; 16:31, Rom 5:8, Col 1:15-20; 1 Thess 4:16-17)
(Matt 1:20, Luke 24:6; Acts 1:9; 4:12; 16:31, Rom 5:8, Col 1:15-20; 1 Thess 4:16-17)
holy spirit
We believe the principal ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict people of their sin and reveal Christ to people as the only one who can save them from their sins. Without that work of the Holy Spirit, no one would come to Christ for salvation.
(John 3:5-8, John 15:26; 16:8-15)
(John 3:5-8, John 15:26; 16:8-15)
Humanity and The Fall
We believe that humanity was created by God in His image but that, through the act of Adam and Eve’s disobedience recorded in Genesis 3, all humanity suffers from the effects of sin and the punishment of death. We are completely in need of salvation from sin.
(Gen 1:27, Ezek 18:4, Rom 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)
(Gen 1:27, Ezek 18:4, Rom 3:23; 5:12; 6:23)
Salvation
We believe that salvation is received only through personal faith in the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ on the cross, not by human effort.
(Eph 2:8-9; Rom 10:9-10)
(Eph 2:8-9; Rom 10:9-10)
The Church
We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ consists of all those who, by faith, have received Him as their Savior and Lord. We believe that the local church is a body of such believers assembled for worship, mutual strengthening in Christ, service to others, and the making of disciples as Jesus commands.
(Acts 2:47, John 13:35, Matt 28:19)
(Acts 2:47, John 13:35, Matt 28:19)
ESCHATOLOGY
We believe Jesus Christ is returning one day to judge both the living and the dead and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
(Rev 20-21)
(Rev 20-21)
baptism
We believe that the New Testament practice for baptism is immersion of the believer in water as a symbol of our union with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
(Matt 3, Luke 3, Acts 8, 16)
(Matt 3, Luke 3, Acts 8, 16)
lord's supper
We believe that The Lord’s Supper is a commemoration of the Lord’s death until He comes again.
